Defending Against Domestic Abuse

Haven House defines Domestic Violence as the attempt by one person to control and manipulate another through the use of intimidation, physical force, emotional abuse, financial deprivation, psychological violence, assault (the threat of violence), and battery (physical violence.)

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone – it remains one of the most difficult challenges in our society, as 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men will face severe physical harm from an intimate partner during their lifetime. In fact, domestic attacks are increasing, and we now have more than 10 million domestic attacks per year on both men and women. This translates to roughly one domestic abuse attack every three seconds in the United States.

Haven House is working to make a difference in these tragic realities by offering proven solutions that work. Haven also works to improve community involvement through awareness programs and events, like the recent Egg Hunt that took place recently in Haynes Park.

Our agency proudly supports Haven House in its efforts to end domestic violence. For every referral you send to our firm, we will donate $10 in your name to the Haven House charity and you’ll be entered into our monthly drawing for a $50 gift card.
